Awkwafina
Awkwafina began as a American musician and rapper performing sly tunes that dealt with questions of race and sexuality with a humorous twist. Before expanding into Hollywood her career, she had the opportunity to perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came from the trumpet. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. Concentrating on school she studied journalism as well as women's studies at college, even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until the time she finished her studies. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The last track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was which was published in 2015. She decided to pursue a career as an actor after completing her first two endeavors, author and musician. As well as early shows that included Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in the movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored major roles in a variety of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released In Fina We Trust.
